The contents of this report provide an aid to iCareerCoach users in the interpretation of the responses given by John Rose to the PAPI 3 I questionnaire. It can be used when preparing for a feedback interview with the respondent or writing an assessment report.
He describes himeself as having a strong desire to influence others and is very likely to want to take control in many situations. His responses strongly suggest that he may dislike following the guidance of others and he could be uncooperative in situations where he has not been involved in key decisions. It is likely to be important to his to be in a role where he can guide others, though he may fail to consider their ideas or perspective on a problem, possibly leading to their demotivation.
Explore how he reacts to situations which do not afford his the possibility of influencing others or where he has not been involved in key decisions. If appropriate, consider with his the ways in which he can best manage his input in these situations.
Challenge his to reflect on his style in situations where others have to follow his direction. Have there been occasions when he might have overlooked useful guidance or not encouraged others’ ideas? How could he moderate this in future to make sure he doesn’t miss useful information?
Are there any situations where his preference for influencing others could be a particular asset (e.g. during a negotiation process)? Consider whethis he may have opportunities to get involved in such tasks to a greater extent in the future.
In which situations could anothis person take responsibility for guiding certain tasks? How might this benefit you, the development of that individual and the progress of the task?
